ELES
Description
The service processes and analyses asset nameplate images from substation equipment using AI-based computer vision to automatically extract technical parameters. It converts unstructured visual information into structured, machine-readable data, enabling faster and more accurate asset data inventory and supporting the digitalisation of asset management processes.
Core Capabilities
Monitoring & Anomaly Detection
Business Need
ELES owns many substation assets, each with a nameplate containing key technical and operational parameters. Currently, field personnel must manually read and enter this data into the Enterprise Asset Management system — a time-consuming process prone to transcription errors. The service automates this extraction, significantly reducing the time from image acquisition to database storage and improving EAM data quality.
Key Performance Indicators
Classification accuracy: correct detection of asset attributes and corresponding values from nameplate images
Reduction in digitalisation time compared to manual data collection
Attribute-value association accuracy across variable nameplate layouts
Feedback rate for insufficient image quality
Data Provided
Structured tables of extracted asset attributes and values per nameplate image
Outputs formatted for integration into MS SQL databases or Enterprise Asset Management platforms
Note: Service for internal ELES use only; representative (dummy) images available to EnerTEF stakeholders via dedicated TEF TSO node storage
